Volunteering

If I can help to make something better, that is very satisfying to me
Bernadet, Yaletown House Board Member

Yaletown House offers you a rewarding opportunity to maximize your potential while helping others. There are many ways to help and our volunteers come from a variety of different backgrounds; we have volunteers from schools, service clubs, the community, family members and individuals who may or may not have a connection to the facility. Anyone with a genuine interest in working with older adults can benefit becoming a volunteer at Yaletown House.

Volunteers help in a variety of programs:

  • Escorting residents to appointments.
  • Participating in outings such as: sporting events, the library, shopping.
  • Helping someone discover their hidden talent in a Painting or Arts and Craft Program.
  • 1 to 1 walks in the community.
  • Assisting in Family and Friends Night by serving goodies or dancing with residents.
  • Reading to people with visual or hearing impairments.
  • Friendly visits.

We can set up a schedule to meet you needs as well as ours.  For an up to date listing of current volunteer positions click here: Opportunities
