Thanks to a grant from the BC Government (Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts) Yaletown House received a grant to help us celebrate British Columbia’s 150 anniversary. We had 5 fabulous events in November 2008, as well as a few smaller projects to mark the occasion:
BC Achievers Day: we welcomed Matt Hallat a BC Para-Olympic Athlete, and enjoyed a combination Music and Art performance by Nancy McMaster and Jim Jeffery. See Photos
BC Pioneers Day: we welcomed Vancouver Historian Chuck Davis and enjoyed a performance by the Realtime Quartet. See Photos
BC Aboriginal Day: we welcomed dancers and drummer from the Tsleil Watututh Nations, followed by a sampling of local fare (BC salmon and cheese). See Photos
Thank you to the residents, families and community members who joined us.
In addition to these events, a project called Portraits of Life, which includes a beautiful pictorial and short story interviews 19 of our residents will be available mid December, call Lynn for details 604 806-4210.
