Renovations Complete
On Saturday Aril 18, we had a party to celebrate the re-opening of our much loved Craft Room. We welcomed residents, families, Board members, and staff who helped us officially cut the ribbon to the newly renovated room. Participants enjoyed home made apple tart, sparking juice and got a glimpse of our new dish and glass ware, appliances and a preview show of our Audio/Visual equipment including a BlueRay player.
As part of the craft room celebration, we were fortunate to have photographer David Ellingsen, who donated his time and expertise to offer resident and their families professional portraits. David, along with writer Dianna Waggoner was instrumental in the creation of the publication Portraits of Life.
We would like to thank everyone who made the Craft Room renovations a big success; in particular, BC Gaming Policy and Enforcement, Government of Canada, New Horizons for Seniors Programs for grant funding, and Yaletown House resident and families and Board Members for their donations.
Finally, we acknowledge our in-house Team for their input and involvement in all the phases: from renovation planning to construction and installation, to the celebration party.
