Bollywood By the Beach raises $56,500

We did it for a great cause and thank everyone for supporting Bollywood by the Beach 6. The Yaletown House Foundation Team sincerely thanks everyone who contributed to our success: guests, generous sponsors, silent/live auction donors and an amazing group of volunteers who collectively raised $56,500 for our help rebuild our courtyard garden

Extra special gratitude to Jan and Mike Volker, Super Hosts, who have shared their home for SIX By the Sea/Beach events and raised $250,000 IN TOTAL for Yaletown House seniors.

Big thank you’s to: Paul Martin (Peacock and Martin Wine Merchants), Darryll Frost (Central City Brewers) and Mark James (The Distillery) for their generous contributions to our refreshment bar.

Thank you the performers of the Royal Academy of Bhangra Society, the Synchronized Swimmers, Musicians Anju and Josh, Jaspreet and Kudrit for the Henna Art, and DJ O who got the guests on the dance floor.

Three cheers to Maharaja Catering for the delicious Indian feast. We thank Lonsdale Event Rental and the Printing House for the non-profit discount. There were also some behind the scene contributors that we would like to acknowledge: Bill and Nicole Renwick, Richard Barazzuol, Joy Miller and Darci and her team of Friday night leis makers. Kudos to our Board of Directors and Staff Members who donated wine for the game prizes and auction items.

Thank you to the Yaletown House contractors, sub-trades, service providers and suppliers who generously sponsored our event. Please take a moment to recognize these companies who were a tremendous benefit in helping us achieve our goal. We would especially like to acknowledge HEATHERBRAE, KATHY FINDLAY –Wealth Strategies Group of RBC Dominion Securities, OMICRON, ECOLABS, LEDCOR, LOKI, and MNP as our lead sponsors.

Thank you to our fabulous guests who arrived decked-out in Bollywood style outfits, boogied-down to the Bhangra tunes, out bid each other on silent and live auction items, and for making the evening a burst of good cheer.

Most importantly, we could not have done this event without the invaluable help from our 35 volunteers: before, during and after the event. We are 99% volunteer driven and without our team of furniture movers, decorators, event helpers and cleanup crew – Bollywood by the Beach 6 would not happen. Thank you to our black jack dealers, servers, games people, photographers, greeters, raffle ticket sellers, hosts and on and on. Everyone shone so brightly and were truly amazing. Thank you!

Finally, we acknowledge the dedication of the Bollywood By the Beach Planning Committee who have been working on this event for many months to make it a bright success.

Yeah Team!
