We follow the principles of Person-Centred Care.  This approach aims to see each resident as a whole person, taking into account the individual’s unique qualities, abilities, interests, preferences and needs, rather than focusing on their illness or on abilities they may have lost.

Professional Care

Our team provides an inter-disciplinary approach to each resident’s care. This includes the following departments: nursing, recreation, dietary, nutrition, social work services, building services, administration and management.

The nursing staff consists of Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Care Aides (CAs). The staffing ratios vary on each unit depending on shift and the care needs of the residents.  There is an RN on duty 24/7.

The Recreation Team includes:  Staff that provide recreation/activity programs to each floor, Volunteer Coordinator, Music Therapists, Spiritual Care Coordinator and Horticulture Therapist.  Together they deliver recreation, activity and therapeutic programming seven days a week.

Reception and Accounting staff assist new and current residents and their families to maintain in-house trust accounts, and pre-authorized user fees (rent) payments. As the first point of contact, the receptionist can also assist with guest meals reservations and purchases from concession.

In addition to the Cooks who prepare the meals in-house and the Dietary Aides who serve in the dinning room, a Registered Dietitian is on site for meal planning. Residents are offered alternate choices at each meal; in addition, tea, coffee and snacks are available as specific times of the day.  Families and friends may purchase a ticket from reception to join the guest table at mealtime.

Laundry and Housekeeping Staff maintains a high standard of cleanliness for residents‘ belongings and throughout the care home.

The Management Team consists of the Executive Director, Director Care, Director Finance, Director Facilities and Support, Director Communications and Community Relations, Manager Clinical Practice, Manager Social Work and Therapeutic Services, and Manager Support Services.
