Position:Cooks

Description:Under the direction of the Manager, Food Services preparing, storing and serving menu items, and cooks
foods in accordance with established nutritional standards and practice to ensure optimum nutritional content and suitability to residents’ needs. Perform related cooking duties as required in accordance with established procedures.
Qualifications:• Red Seal Certification
• Graduation from recognized 12 month in cooking• Plus one year recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Food Safe Certificate is an asset
Skills and Abilities:• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both
verbally and in writing
• Ability to deal with others effectively
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.• Ability to organize work
• Ability to operate related equipment

Dietary Aide

Position:Dietary Aide

Description:Under the direction of the Manager, Food Services performs a variety of food service duties such as setting tables, portioning and serving meals, washing and peeling vegetables and fruit, preparing items such as tea, coffee, and toast, and washing dishes and utensils, clears and cleans dining tables, damp mopping floors, washing dishes, and cleaning surfaces in accordance with established procedures.
Qualifications:• Grade 10, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Food Safe Certificate is an asset
Skills and Abilities:• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both
verbally and in writing
• Ability to deal with others effectively
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
• Ability to organize work
• Ability to operate related equipment

Registered Nurses

Position:Registered Nurses (RN)

Description:Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Practice, assesses, plans,
implements and evaluates resident care in conjunction with the
interdisciplinary team.  Provides guidance and work direction
to Care Aides and LPNs.
Qualifications:• Graduate from an approved nursing program.
• Current practicing registration with the College of
Registered Nurses of BC
• Completion of a Basic Cardiac Life
Support.
• One year recent related experience in gerontological
nursing
Skills and Abilities:• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both
verbally and in writing
• Ability to interact therapeutically with residents and
their significant others
• Ability to apply decision making and analytical skills

Days/Hours of Work:• Days and Evenings Shifts 7.2 hours
• Night Shift 8 hours

Position:Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN)

Qualifications:• Current full practicing licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of B.C. (CLPNBC)
Skills and Abilities:• Interest in gerontology

• Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care

Days/Hours of Work:• 07:00 – 15:00
• 15:00 – 23:00
• 23:00 – 07:00
