Where to Donate

Therapeutic Programs

Several of our therapeutic programs rely solely on funding from donations and Provincial Gaming Grants:

  • While getting your hands dirty in the soil, HORTICULTURE THERAPY allows for socialization and sharing of past gardening experience.
  • Finding peace, hope and comfort during difficult times, our SPIRITUAL CARE PROGRAM supports residents and families.
  • The power of MUSIC THERAPY is a vital medium to engage residents and encourage lost connections in a supportive environment.
  • ART THERAPY can help recall memories, relieve stress and assist residents in discovering a hidden talent.

Together these vital therapeutic services benefit our seniors greatly.  Help make what matters »

Equipment – Bike Program

With the addition of the Orion Bike, we now have 3 specialized Bikes for tandem style rides. Since 2009 our two Duet Bikes, have been on the move thanks to our wonderful volunteers who take our seniors out for 11 ½ months out  of the year. The Orion Bike, with motorized support, was purchased in 2020 and is a unique style of riding where the rider and passenger sit side by side and the passenger has the option of peddling a little, a lot or none.  All of our specialty Bikes are designed for individuals with mobility limitations who want to get out for a ride – safely.  As with any bicycle, the Duet and Orion Bikes require regular maintenance to keep the program running.   Get us moving »

Garden CartPrograms/Supplies – Garden Plants

We call our garden ‘our little oasis in the big city’. With two outdoor spaces: rooftop and courtyard gardens, residents participate in a variety of therapeutic activities – as well as enjoy the simple pleasure of being with nature. Gardening has many benefits ranging from learning a new activity, rediscovering a past interest, encouraging social interaction and offering physical exercise. Maintaining the beauty of our gardens is an ongoing expense, as we need a diversity of plant supplies from annuals, perennials, seeds and soil. Led by a professional Horticultural Therapist, gardening is very popular with our residents, especially those with strong links to past experiences. By supporting Horticulture Therapy, you are giving to an environment that promotes self-esteem, creativity, and enjoyment.   Keep us Beautiful»

Equipment –  Meal Delivery Carts

In response to the rising need need for modified diets and therapies for seniors with swallowing conditions we need to implement a new meal cart delivery system. The Aladdin Temp-Rite Carts will allow us to accommodate residents who are unable to attend meals in the main dinning room due to health or mobility.  The Temp-Rite Cart design allows for two separate compartments for hot and cold food options in one cart.  This feature will ensure the residents’ intake needs and food choice is at the forefront regardless of meal location. Building Improvements: 2nd, 3rd and 4th Floor seating re-upholstery and Wall Art

After years of well-loved and constant use, we require upgrades to our seating complement on each Unit (2, 3 & 4).  The plan is to replace worn seating with hospital grade, infection control materials.  In addition, wall art is being sourced to provide beauty to the area and inspire conversations. Improve our space»

Building Improvements- Courtyard Garden Redevelopment

A beautiful setting for residents, families and friends to spend quality time, our courtyard garden space is our little oasis in the big city. Redevelopment plans include accessible planters, comfortable seating, tables, perimeter security, lighting, shade and mature trees.  The courtyard is ideal for variety of activities from horticulture programs that will see residents growing a variety of plants and flowers to simply a pleasant area for a visit.  As many of our seniors have strong links to past gardening experiences the redesigned space will grow opportunities for them to continue their love of garden and give them a sense of pride and accomplishment.
