Big Thank you’s to following individuals and groups who collectively made Christmas 2019 a month of falalalala: festivities, friendship AND fun!
Volunteers –We cannot do it without our teams of hard working elves. Because of them, the Holidays were filled with visiting performers, choirs, tree trimming parties and unlimited cookies. Bringing love, cheer and goodwill, our Volunteers made Christmas another year to remember. Special acknowledgement to:
Santa – Roger “Santa” McKie, owner of Dressew Supply, who has not missed a Christmas delivery in over 25 years. He provides the goods – we provide the in-house team of shoppers — and together we descend on the malls, the superstores and the chocolate shops to find a perfect, personal present for each and every resident. Thank you Roger (and Joyce and David and Jessica) for your many years of generosity and kindness.
Staff – Like our Volunteers, we cannot make Christmas happen alone and all departments contributed in countless ways to make the holidays a special time. From the day to day duties, to the extraordinary accomplishments, care, dietary, housekeeping, maintenance and administration together played an important role in making it special. Big FALALA acknowledgement to Team Recreation for making Christmas time of joy and thanks.
- Volunteer extraordinaire and Board member Al for donning the red suit for year number four
- RBC Staff from the Yaletown and Nelson Street Branches who ‘Decked the Halls, and Rocked Around the Christmas Tree, to make it ‘The Most Wonderful Time of the Year’.
- Staff at Cossette who designed 127 individual and personalized Christmas cards for every resident. Each card was themed to something special that the resident liked – wow – 127!
- Darci and her team of creative bow tying friends who wrapped and tapped 127 presents. We recognize that this was Darci’s 18th year of coordinating this special service and we thank her and her friends for all parcels that are ready to go out the big day.
