This summer the Lions hosted their Annual Gala and it was another ROARING success raising $25,000 for Yaletown House and our courtyard garden project.
Since 2008, Yaletown House has received over $225,000 from the Lions through their Galas. That is a remarkable achievement. They have donated to our facility wide modernization project and funded the purchase of a specialized jet style bathing tub. In addition, they were major donors for the acquisition of our 2016 wheelchair bus, allowing our seniors to tour the town in style. Most recently, the past two Gala proceeds have been directed towards the rooftop and courtyard garden redevelopment projects.
The Lions inspire others to give and many of our projects achieved success thanks to their involvement. Recently through a connection with the Lions, Para Space Landscape donated plants and materials as well as hard working, enthusiastic volunteers to fill our rooftop garden. We cannot thank the Lions enough for this friendship.
At this year’s Gala, Yaletown House was one of four charitable recipients to benefit, which also included Elsie Roy Elementary School, King George Secondary School and First Sight. We are honoured to be in the company of these fine charitable organizations that the Lions also hold dear to their hearts.
Celebrating 10 years of community service, the Yaletown Lions Club have never stopped delivering on the simple promise of giving back to their community to improve the lives of many. Thank you!
