2018 – A Homespun Christmas

We would like to thank the following individuals and groups for making our Christmas 2018 a month long celebration:
Volunteers –Thanks to the hard work by many elves, the Holidays were filled with visiting performers, choirs, tree trimming parties and shortbread cookies. Our volunteers contributed in many ways bringing cheer and goodwill to our Homespun Theme.

Special acknowledgement to:

  • Volunteer and Board member Al who resumed his role as Santa for the 3rd time
  • RBC Staff from the Yaletown and Nelson Street Branches who again sang carolls and helped Santa distribute his presents.
  • Staff at Cossette who created 127 individual and personalized Christmas cards for every resident.
  • Darci and her team of hardworking friends for tying and taping 127 presents. For 17 straight years, their dedication ensures that all parcels are bowed and ready to go for Santa’s delivery.
  • Santa – Once again Roger “Santa” McKie, made his on-time delivery of Christmas goods so that our in-house team was able to shop the malls, the superstores and the chocolate vendors to find a customized present perfect for each resident. Thank you Roger and Dressew Supply for your many years of generosity and kindness.

Staff – All departments contributed in countless ways to make the holidays a special time. From helping residents to get dressed in their finest outfits for the Family and Friends Party, preparing the holiday meal, or organizing carollers to perform at one of the many concerts – everyone played an important role. Special thanks to Team Recreation for starting the planning process in September and making the Holidays a time of joy.
