On January 18 we hosted a Donor Recognition Tea to thank everyone who contributed to the successful completion of our main lounge renovations. Foundations, service clubs, board members, volunteers, government grants and families collectively helped make the main lounge the beautiful space we celebrate today. At the Tea, special acknowledgement was presented to The Radcliffe Foundation for supporting the Music Therapy Area, the Yaletown Lions Club for supporting the Family Fireside Lounge and Michael Driscoll for supporting the Exercise/Games Area.
The event included two delightful resident performances: a poem* of thanks read by Leroy and a song of thanks sung by the Yaletown House choir. Special thanks to Marlene, Recreation Therapist and Lyndia, Music Therapist for writing and coordinating the resident presentations.

Thank you to the donors for being so kind,
For donating your gifts with us in mind,
For the dark wood trim and the carpet so green
And the comfortable chairs to sit and to dream.
Drinking hot tea by the warm fireplace,
We are cheered by this clean and inviting space
You’ve created a Haven that’s better and bright
It reminds us of what a home should be like.
From the fish to the fireplace, from the birds to the bar,
The new lounge is a huge improvement by far.
