Salsa By the Sea, Numero 5 raises $55,500

We did it for a great cause and we thank everyone for supporting Yaletown House Foundation’s SALSA BY THE SEA: Numero 5. The Yaletown House Team sincerely thanks everyone who attended and donated. BY THE SEA5 was also made possible thanks to generous sponsors, silent auction donors and an amazing group of volunteers who collectively raised $55,500 for our Wheelchair Bus campaign. We have now reached our milestone goal! Thanks to you, we are shopping for a new bus. Soon our residents will be rolling down the open road in a brand new bus and enjoying Vancouver’s treasured trips such as Stanley Park, Cypress Mountain or Spanish Banks Beach. In addition to the bus, a portion of the funds raised at Salsa by the Sea will be directed towards therapeutic programming for our seniors including Music, Art and Horticulture Therapies and Spiritual Care. These programs provide vital quality of life services to our seniors.

Extra special gratitude to Jan and Mike Volker, Sizzling Super Hosts, who have shared their home for 5 By the Sea events and collectively raised $195,500 for Yaletown House seniors. Also extra thanks to: Laura Trivett, (Chef), Paul Martin (Peacock and Martin Wine Merchants), Darryll Frost (Central City Brewers) and Mark James (The Distillery) for their generous contributions to our dining pleasure and refreshment bar. Thank you also to Infinitus, Nika Vaughan, Rumba Calzada, Synchronized Swimmers, Richard Barazzuol, Sharon Quan, Tacofino, and Lonsdale Rental.

Thank you to the Yaletown House contractors, service providers and suppliers who generously sponsored our event.
Please take a moment to recognize these companies who were a tremendous benefit in helping us achieve our goal. We would especially like to acknowledge KATHY FINLAY WEALTH STRATEGIES, HEATHERBRAE, OMICRON AND SEMIAHOO GLASS, our lead sponsors.

Thank you to our fabulous guests who arrived decked-out in Salsa style, grooved the Latin tunes, out bided each on silent and live auction items, and made the event a truly fun evening .

Most importantly, we could not have done this event without the invaluable help from our 30 volunteers: before, during and after the event. We are 99% volunteer driven and without our team of furniture movers, decorators, event helpers and cleanup crew – Salsa by the Sea would not happen. Thank you to our black jack dealers, kitchen helpers, servers, games people, photographers, greeters and on and on.Everyone was amazing – thank you! And finally, we also acknowledge the dedication of the Salsa By the Sea Planning Committee who have worked on this event for eight months to make it the success it was.

Yeah Team!
